Igniting The Fuel That Turns Prospects Into Customers

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

By Lisa Packer Every sale is powered by the fuel of emotion. By a complex mix of beliefs, feelings and desires that mesh together to become the Core Buying Emotion the feeling that compels us to break out our wallets. Your job as a marketer is to trigger that emotion in your prospect and get it worked up to the point that she buys what youre selling. So how, exactly, are you supposed to do that? Know Where Youre Going Stimulating the wrong emotion is just as bad as not stimulating any at all. So the first thing you have to do is know your prospect. Know how shes already feeling about the problems your offer will solve. In other words, you have to identify her Core Buying Emotion before you can even dream of triggering it. Start The Ignition Look beyond your product or service. Look beyond the benefits it offers. Think about where your prospect is emotionally, and where shell be after she takes you up on your generous offer. Now youve got to show her how your product will get her from where she is to where she wants to go. There are as many different ways of triggering emotions as there are emotions to trigger and then some. But here are some ideas to get you started: Tell a story. Let it read like a novel, with quotations and all. Let your prospect get involved briefly with a character that shares her problem and then watch as your product solves that problem. Stories not only evoke intense emotion, theyre remembered longer than any other pitch you can make.Paint a vivid picture with your words. Use details to stimulate as many of her senses as possible. Smells are especially tied to memory and emotion. If youre trying to make her feel nostalgic, mention the smell of Grandmas fresh baked bread, or of the grass she played in as a child.Feel the emotion as you write. Let your words be saturated with it to the point that it seeps into your entire copy. If you want your prospect to be angry, then be fighting mad while you write. Channeling The Energy Once youve ignited the fuel of your prospects emotion, youve got to channel it. Just getting angry or nostalgic isnt good enough it has to produce action. So be sure you give your prospect something to do with her feelings, like calling your 1-800 number, filling out your handy order form, or clicking your “Buy It Now!” Button. Emotion is a powerful fuel. Use it wisely, and your marketing can power your business for a long time to come. Does your marketing forge an emotional connection with your prospects? It can. Lisa Packer, author of “The Power Of Emotion: 6 Triggers That Turn Prospects Into Customers,” specializes in copy that does just that. The Art of Impressing Women - Proven Techniques on How to Attract and Impress Women

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

By James Brito Its easy for us men to think that women wont go for us unless we have a special talent. But as Erika Jong said, “Everyone has talent. What is rare is the courage to follow the talent to the dark place where it leads.” Its true: we all have talents. Think for a moment about a talent you may have. It could be anything: You know how to play billiards really well You can speak a foreign language (even if not fluently) You know how to fix cars You know some magic tricks You can do really good impersonations You know how to play an instrument Youre really good at your job You can cook a great plate of lasagna (or any dish, for that matter) Dont discount anything. In my audio series, “The Art of Impressing Women,” I detail some great ways to impress women, and one of the most important ways to doing this is to not only have, but DISPLAY, a talentno matter how marginal it may seem. One of my favorite “guy” movies is “The Tao of Steve,” which shows how Dex, a fat guy with no aspirations, easily gets hot, gorgeous women. How? Simply by following the 3 rules of the Tao. They are: Eliminate your desires. Do something excellent in her presence, thereby proving your sexual worthiness. Retreat, for as Heidegger said, “We pursue that which retreats from us.” Or, to put it more simply: Be desireless Be excellent Be gone Dexs talent was that he knew how to cook a really mean lobster dish; thus, he fulfilled the second rule. He knew one thing, and he did it well. In the process, he followed the first and third rules of the Tao by not being overly eager to impress the girl and get her phone number, and just after he impressed the girl with his talent, he would be gone. After cooking for her, he would say, “Well, I gotta get ready for bed.” She would beg him not to go, thus de-powering herself and em-powering Dex. And he would say, “Well, I guess I could stay a little longer.” And you can guess where it went from there So, like Dex, you should aim to be excellent at something, all while “holding the cards” to a womans heart. Does that mean you have to know how to cook gourmet meals or buld your own motorcycles from scratch (a la American Choppers)? Hell no! It simply means you have to find within yourself that one talent, that one skill, that separates yourself from the rest of the male packand use it to your every advantage. Ill give you an example of how to do this. His names Jared, and hes not the most talented person in the world. Like Dex, hes not exactly a man on a mission; he plays lots of video games and watches lots of TV. Yet somehow hes never lacking for female companionship. Why? Because when he goes out and meets girls, he does something that amazes them: hes taught himself (proving that great talent does not have to come naturally) some really impressive card tricks. Thats it. Jareds not an athlete, hes not a gourmet cook, hes not a guitar player. He just taught himself how to do some cool magic tricks, and does them so well that girls are naturally attracted to him. It works! But does Jared go out of his way to show off his skill? NO. Actually, what Jared does is act really easy, really casual, ask the girl lots of questions about herself (first rule of the Tao: be desireless), then wait til theres a pause in the conversation to ask, “Hey, you wanna see something cool?” The girl will say yes, and hell tease her: “Oh, too bad. Youll have to wait til later.” This is what I call “curiosity building,” and its a proven girl getter. Stimulate her curiosity, hold her at bay, and shell not only become more curious in your talent, but more interested in you. So Jared will string the girl along for a while, then say, “Fine! Fine! Ill show you the stupid trick,” with a grin. This changes the game so that the girl has become the chaser, Jared the chased, and he is able to “placate” her with his trick. What Jared does, in essence, is follow the first rule of the Tao to the T: he acts truly desireless. He turns the tables on girls so that THEY seem like the ones filled with desire, not him. In making them more desirous than him, he becomes more empowered and, of course, more attractive. Its truly brilliant stuff. On top of that, once Jared has impressed the girl, he makes sure to follow the third rule: RETREAT. He strings along the girl for so long that she cant help but be attracted to him. And just when shes realized that shes met a really great, talented guy, he says, “I have to go,” or, “Hey, my buddies are waiting for me.” By doing this, he ensures that the girl needs him, more than he needs her. In the process, shell give him her phone number and ask him for a date, in a desperate attempt to see him again. He expertly becomes the pursued, not the pursuernow thats a magic trick! This is all part of the art of impressing women, an art that takes time to master but once youve done it once, the next few times are easy. Naturally, it does require that you actually show the girl your talent in action, of course; saying youre a great cook and then not being able to describe what you do accurately, or not be able to cook for her at all, will only make you look foolish and lose the girl quicker than you say, “Gone.” But now, as a single guy or a guy looking for a new relationship, you have the chance to work on the skills you have, however small they may be, and do something truly magical to impress women. Look at your time of single status not as a loss, but as an opportunity, to become a truly one-of-a-kind guy. And once youve figured out what your talent or talents is, make the most of them. Learn how to lead girls along with your talent;like Jared, create opportunities out of them. If you know how to cook, ask the girl what her favorite plate is. Say she answers, “Penne a la vodka.” You should respond, “Really? Wow, thats cool, because I make a great dish of Penne a la vodka.” Shell naturally want to see how you make it, so you can answer, “Yeah, its too bad I have to be leaving, you wont get to try it just yet.” Dont ask her to come over to your house to try your cookinginstead, be desireless and retreat. Make HER ask to come to your house or apartment to try out your cooking. That way youre making HER the desired one, and YOU the empowered one. And when you “hold the cards,” you can get anything you want. ANYTHING. Its all about learning your talentsand knowing how to use your talents. No less an authority than Benjamin Franklin said, “Hide not your talents. They for use were made. Whats a sundial in the shade?” James Brito, bestselling author of “How to Be Irresistible to Women” and “The Art of Impressing Women,” regularly explores topics of female attraction. Since 2000, he has helped thousands of men around the world build confidence and get the women they deserve. Where’s the Temple on the Temple Mount?

Monday, October 29th, 2007

By David Ben-Ariel Something’s missing. Rome is synonymous with the Vatican, Mecca with the Kaaba, and Jerusalem’s known for its Western Wall. But why should we stand before the wall, letting it obstruct our vision, when we could be praying in a Temple? Why should Jews continue to bow before an illegitimate Gentile decree that tells them where to pray? (Isaiah 10:1). The Turks designated the Wall as an alternative “holy” site since Muslims had stolen the Temple Mount! If we rightly refused to accept Uganda as a Jewish “homeland,” why should Jews settle for anything less than a Temple for worship? That basically, is the gist of the message our demonstrations seek to send. The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement doesn’t only protest the ongoing Muslim occupation of our Temple Mount, but proclaims that this unnatural set of circumstances will come to an end. We’re confident that Muslim rule on the Temple Mount will soon be history, just as surely as the Berlin Wall fell and Eastern Europe came out from under the Russian heel! The restoration of Jews from all over the world to their ancient homeland is only the first step towards the redemption of our land and lives. Israel, for the most part, is an empty, secular state. It’s about as Jewish as America is Christian! The fact that the Temple Mount is still without a Temple stands as an indictment against Israel! God will hold Israel’s political and religious leaders responsible! Jerusalem’s known as the heart of Israel, the crown of the “Jewish” State. The Temple Mount is the crown jewel. This historic Jewish treasure is a “diamond in the rough.” It awaits our craftsmen’s tender loving care to bring it to the brilliant perfection it deserves (Psalms 50:2). We protest that this responsibility hasn’t been fulfilled yet, but we proclaim that these things could change overnight. The world was caught off guard by the rapid succession of events that shook Europe and the former USSR. The “experts” were exposed as ignorant for not expecting it. Nobody needs to be surprised when inevitable events rock Jerusalem, and they feel its aftershocks worldwide. They’ve been foretold. What’s presently missing in Israel will be found when we’re filled with our historic mission and accomplish our intended purpose: the restoration of the sacrifices and the construction of the Third Temple! Shamefully, today’s leaders reflect a ghetto-mentality and expose the sorry state of Israel and Jewish affairs! They’re starved for this world’s affection, afraid to be different, and too willing to sacrifice our unique identity! God condemns those kapos of compromise who would rather sell-out than take an unpopular stand! Even though it’s not politically correct, and goes against our democratic grain, and could result in a backlash - Hanukkah represents those who are willing, if and when necessary, to risk the wrath of others to insure the triumph of good over evil, of light over darkness, and right over wrong. In this particular case, the light of what’s good and right was the brilliant example of those faithful few Jews who held their head high (sick and tired of being beaten down) and publicly chose to reject alien ideas and destroy imposed idols. The Maccabees weren’t overly concerned with a suicidal fear of world opinion, but mightily expressed their faith in God. They didn’t flirt with “foreign affairs,” or engage in self-destructive interfaith orgies. They kept the faith and cleansed the Temple Mount of its spiritual filth. World Jewry continues to celebrate Hanukkah to this day, but in the spirit of hypocrisy! We’re more like the cowering Hellenists who assimilated, rather than the courageous Maccabees who fought to remain true to themselves! Thank Heavens, there are a growing number in Israel who want to see Jerusalem restored as our spiritual center, and our lives rededicated to biblical ideals, not humanist ideas. Pray for Jerusalem’s peace and the rekindling of Israel’s light! David Ben-Ariel, a Christian-Zionist writer and author of Beyond Babylon: Europe’s Rise and Fall, shares a special focus on the Middle East, reflected in hard-hitting articles that help others improve their understanding of that troubled region. Merk Trying to Sell Unsafe Medication…Again?

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Cathlene_Martinez] Cathlene Martinez In an attempt to replace its blockbuster painkilling drug Vioxx, Merk & Co. has released the new drug Arcoxia. The new drug however, is receiving bad reviews from many doctors who say that the drugs effectiveness is not worth its approval. Doctors point to three different studies revealed at the American Heart Association conference that show Arcoxia poses heart risks similar to the drug diclofenac, an older arthritis medication known to raise heart risks. An article posted by the Journal of the American Medical Association displays even more bad news for Merk and Co. The article questions the cardiovascular safety of the drug diclofenac; the drug doctors say is comparable to Arcoxia. A Researcher pooled the results from 23 different studies in which people were deciding to take an NAISD. The data showed that diclofenac raised heart risks just as much as low dose Vioxx. The only medication with a greater risk was a larger dose of Vioxx. This is bad news for Merk & Co. who is still reeling from the affects from the ban of Vioxx from the market. In a study of over 8,000 people it was found that Vioxx raised the risk of multiple cardiovascular problems such as heart attack, chest pain that was related to heart disease, sudden death, stroke, and blood clots more than 2X the traditional NAISD naproxen. The new study on Arcoxia involved 34,701 arthritis patients in the US and 37 other countries. David Gram a Food and Drug Administration drug safety expert that criticized the FDAs handling of Vioxx says the new research raises red flags and Theres no reason to think (Arcoxia) suffers from the same problem. The good news is there are several other drugs in the same category as Arcoxia that are proven to be safe however due to the inflated price of the drug companies, they can be come expensive. If you have a reoccurring prescription for an ailment such as arthritis you could spend thousands of dollars filling your prescription each year. Heavy Flirting and the Holiday Season

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

By Gordon Basichis I am not the only one who has noticed single women are more aggressive come the holiday season. Friends of mine have also commented that the coy and subtle practice is transformed into an overt expression of desire. Just walk through the department stores or a hip supermarket in a singles neighborhood and you will find women staring harder and longer. Even their body language is different; most stand and face you, inviting and awaiting your approach. They pull it back only when men show no real sign of interest. The single women at the cosmetics and beauty counters all but pounce on you as you go walking past. They wave skin conditioners and colognes you will never buy just so you will stop and talk. Even more reserved women will flirt openly and what they take for suggestively. Attractive women start conversations on the elevator, nervous their charms wont work before you reach your floor. I suppose nobody wants to be alone during the holiday season. Perhaps the Christmas spirit stirs up sexual desires coupled with the distaste for loneliness. For sure, few of us want to sit by ourselves on New Years Eve and watch Dick Clark or MTV bring in the New Year from distant places. All those candles, the incense, the eggnog, and the fireplace would seem to go to waste without someone to share them with you. Friends and family can only provide so much comfort, before you grab your coat and head back out into the cold, snowy weather or like us to the empty streets of West LA. The holiday season works its charms on nearly all of us. We want to be intimate and it is a real let down when there is no one to be intimate with. I wouldnt go as far to say that come holiday season most of us are desperate for companionship. But I would say this is the season when we are most vulnerable. If a soppy commercial can compel us to buy some sentimental piece of junk, we are just as capable of investing our emotions, given the right approach even from a less than perfect stranger. You cant change the world, and you sure cant change what affects you during the holiday season. All we can do is try to be careful. At a time when you are feeling romantic and your guard is down, you can make the kind of mistake that will haunt you through the coming year and longer. There is no end to the amount of embarrassment and distress the wrong guy can cost you. The wrong man to warm the bed may go after your money or steal your identity. He doesnt need much more than a chance to rifle through your wallet or to log on to your computer. So if you should be lucky enough to meet somebody new, be careful. When Mr. Possible starts knocking your email or carrying your bags from the store, realize that con artists are awfully good at what they do. Realize, too, that your heart may be getting ahead of your head. Take a moment and spend a couple of bucks to run a background check on Mr. Christmas. It is one way to help to start the New Year without a major headache. Gordon Basichis is the author of the best selling Beautiful Bad Girl, the Vicki Morgan Story, a non-fiction novel that helped define exotic sexuality in the late twentieth century. He is also the author of The Constant Travellers, a sci-fi fantasy Western. The first chapter of Basichis’ new book Spook, a Roman A’Clef detailing Chinese Espionage in the United States, is featured in a forthcoming anthology, Sleeping with Snakes, Notes from the Los Angeles Underbelly. A professional marketing executive, Basichis is also co-founder of Corra, which as the Corra Group specializes in pre-employment and online dating background checks, as well as corporate research and investigation. Signs Of A Panic Attack-Find Out Which Signs That Causes Panic Attack

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

By David Sodergren Worried that you may have gotten a panic attack? I know you are worried but try to relax. Panic attacks are scary but they are NOT dangerous. I repeat they are NOT dangerous, remember that. How do you know if you have a panic attack? These signs/symptoms are common among those who suffers from panic attacks Raging heartbeat Difficulty breathing, feeling as though you ‘can’t get enough air Terror that is almost paralyzing Nervous, shaking, stress Heart palpitation, feeling of dread Dizziness, lightheadedness or nausea Trembling, sweating, shaking Choking, chest pains, distress Fear, fright, afraid, anxious hot flashes, or sudden chills Tingling in fingers or toes (’pins and needles’) Fearful that you’re going to go crazy or are about to die If you are suffering from any of the signs/symptoms above you could be having a panic attack! If you found yourself in a panic attack there are some quick temporary solutions Take deep long breaths This lowers your heart rate and relaxes your body. Think of breathing like the waves of the ocean. The waves of the ocean are constant. Think of a wave that rises when you breath in. When you breath out it fades. Hear the waves, see them rise and fade slowly. Feel the calmness Think of the word “calm” The brain can only think of one thing at a time. If you think of the word calm you block the brain from doing any other thinking. So think of calm and picture yourself being calm. Repeat the following sentence to yourself: I am calm, i feel calm. Cover your right eye and your right nostril This is a yoga technique and are over 5000 years old. The right side of the body are connected with the left side of the brain. The left side of the brain is the biggest cause for panic attack. If you cover the right side eye and nostril you slows down the left side. As an effect you use your right brain side more and this side is very relaxing.. You become very relaxed. Combine this exercise with the 2 above and do this until you feel better. Choosing the Best Wedding Consultant

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

By Jen Carter Maybe youve been toying with the idea of hiring a wedding consultant. If you have the budget and an excessive amount of guests, than it may be a great idea! Prior to selecting your wedding consultant, you should interview several of them and compile a list of questions. After all, you want to hire the right man/woman for the job, dont you? The idea behind hiring a wedding consultant is to take the stress of wedding planning and arranging your detailsoff of your shoulders. Let someone else worry about it. And, best of all, you always have final say. Youre the boss. That doesnt sound so bad, does it? Just make sure you do it right, boss! The final fifteen questions are a great guideline to finding the perfect person to plan your wedding. If youre looking for the PERFECT wedding consultant, than they shouldnt express any hesitation when asked these questions: 1) Are you licensed, or do you at least have a DBA registration document? 2) How long have you been in the business of wedding consulting? 3) How many weddings do you do on an annual basis? 4) Do you have any feedback/testimonials? 5) Do you belong to any professional organizations? 6) Are you certified? If so, by whom? 7) Do you have a contract (if so, may you see it?) 8) Do you plan on doing this work yourself or are you using the services of your staff? (Youd be surprised how many wedding consultants send other people to do their workthis is an important question to ask). 19) Do you accept referral fees and/or commissions? (If they say that they accept referral feesyou should walk out the door, this sounds like a scam artist). 10) How do you work? Will we be meeting on a one on one basis, or will you full staff be there? 11) Will you be able to work within my budget? If I give you a ceiling budget, will you go beyond it to meet your expectations? (Make sure they are willing to work within your budgetits always easy to spend someone elses money!). 12) What are you willing to do for the fee you are quoting me? Make a list and make sure it coincides with any written contract that requires your signature. 13) How often will you provide me with updates on my wedding planning? 14) Will you be present during my wedding rehearsal and wedding day? Will this be included in your fees? 15) What type of attire will you be wearing should you attend these events? Jen Carter is owner of My Wedding Blog, a free wedding planner guide about weddings. Save A Fortune With Do It Yourself Wedding Invitations

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

By Donald Saunders Having your wedding invitations professionally printed can cost an arm and a leg these days and with more and more people using home computers, or at least having access to a friend’s computer, you can save a great deal of money by simply producing your own invitations at home. Do it yourself wedding invitations can look extremely professional these days and you’ll find that it is easy enough to get hold of the necessary blank stationery either through a local store or online. You’ll even get full instructions, including how to go about wording your invitations. Getting your do it yourself wedding invitations just right does however require a little bit of planning and, in particular, you will need to think carefully about just what you should include along with the invitation card itself. Your printed invitation card will normally be wrapped in tissue and popped into an unsealed but addressed envelope. This in turn will be enclosed in a second envelope which will be sealed and addressed for posting and which should include your return address in case the postal service is unable to deliver it or the recipient is no longer living at the address you have. So far so good and everything you need up to this point will be included in any standard wedding invitation kit that you buy from your local stationer or purchase online. However, you will need to think about a few other things that you should include. First you’ll need to include a reply or response card to give your guests a simply way to let you know whether or not they will be attending. You should also include a stamped and self-addressed envelope for convenience. Next, if the marriage ceremony and wedding reception are being held at different venues, you should include a reception card. This should be in the same style as your wedding invitation and is, in effect, a separate invitation to the reception. For guests who are traveling any distance to the ceremony you may wish to include a map with directions to both the ceremony and reception venues. Again these should be printed on card in the same style as your wedding invitation. Where the marriage ceremony and reception are at different venues some couples prefer to have maps to the reception available at the ceremony rather than to include them with the wedding invitation, while other couples feel that guests might feel happier knowing the location of the reception in advance. Finally, again for guests from out-of-town, you might like to include accommodation cards with details of suitable hotels and guest houses in the area, together with their phone numbers and, where available, website addresses. At this point couples often ask if they should include their list of suggested wedding presents with their invitations. The answer to this is a simple no! Your wedding invitation is simply that an invitation to join you and share in the pleasure of your special day and you should not put your guests in the position of feeling obliged to give you something in return for your hospitality. Of course your guests may ask if they can bring a gift with them and may also ask if there is anything in particular that you would like. In those circumstances it is quite acceptable to provide them some ideas but not until they ask! Naturopathic Medicine

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

By CarolAnn Bailey-Lloyd Find Naturopathic Medicine Schools in the United States and Canada. Naturopathic medicine schools provide a unique and alternative educational path to students seeking innovative and natural health care studies. In one of several naturopathic medicine schools, students will find that many of these learning institutions offer Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine programs that can be attained through academic dedication. Four-year programs in naturopathic medicine schools, prepare successful graduates to take required board exams in order to obtain licensure in those states that authorize Naturopathic Physicians (NDs) to practice. As with all holistic medicine colleges, naturopathic medicine schools place an emphasis on health and wellbeing of the whole person; it is this concept that educates NDs to diagnose and treat the whole person and not just the disease or health condition. Naturopathic medicine schools base these teachings on this specific principle and how to use noninvasive methods to prompt the bodys natural healing processes. In the first year, students participating in naturopathic medicine schools will learn about the anatomy and function of the human body. In addition, classes will involve studies in naturopathic philosophy, therapeutics and theory. The following year, most naturopathic medicine schools will engage students in pathology and diagnostics. This is where students will gain a broader understanding regarding botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, homeopathy and other natural therapies. Subsequently, the second year of naturopathic medicine schools prepares students for the intensive clinical portion of the program. During years three and four, naturopathic medicine schools present practical clinical training that involves more in-depth studies in botanical medicine, clinical nutrition and homeopathy; in addition to case management and organs systems. Students enrolled in one of several naturopathic medicine schools may opt to take electives in Shiatsu, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and Traditional Chinese Medicine; among others. Because the growing demand of natural healthcare has been on the rise for nearly two decades, successful graduates of naturopathic medicine schools can enjoy rewarding, long-term careers in the natural medicine sector. Potential earnings are positive, though incomes may vary depending on whether or not NDs work solely in private offices, or in conjunction with primary care facilities and other health organizations. If you are interested in naturopathic medicine schools, feel free to peruse our healing arts schools directory for one of several naturopathic medicine schools near you today. Find your dream job!
