Ringtones are Red Hot

Friday, November 16th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Amit_Laufer]Amit Laufer Ringtones are like hot cakes for the youngsters, the market is huge, estimated world wide sales of $ 2.5 Billion per year. The cost of a ringtone is ranging from $0.99 $2.99. Survey shows that about 26% of cell phone owners downloaded at least once a ringtone. Many downloading more than one as you can customize and set the phone to play different ringtones per specific caller. For instance if mom is calling the cell phone will play a certain ringtone and another one for dad and for your girl friend a different one so you dont have to guess who is calling you, it is totally personalized per caller. There are four types of ringtones: Monophonic ringtones play a melody of a song one note at a time, with no harmonies. Polyphonic tones add harmonies to the song. Real-life ringtones include voices, quotes, or other strange, real sounds. Master tones are compressed clips of actual songs, as heard on the radio (not just their melodies or a simple harmonic version). How do you download a ringtone? There many web sites that offer a huge selections of lyrics and songs, themes from movies, hip-hop, pop, dance, singers, classics and you name it. The selection is per specific cell phone model and the process is simple, fast and easy. You select a ringtone, choose your cell phone maker and model, you see on the screen an SMS code, you type it in your mobile phone and send, then an SMS message is sent to you with your ringtone to be installed in two short steps process. It is estimated though that the ringtone download party will cool down a bit in the next few years as more cell phones will become an MP3 players of real music. Deciphering Marketing Lingo: What’s the Difference between a USP, Single Message and a Tagline?

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

By Debbie LaChusa Maybe you’ve heard these different marketing terms, maybe you haven’t. Either way, let me help to clarify the difference between them, because you should have all three if you want to market successfully. And knowing what they are may be your first step to accomplishing all three for your business. Unique Selling Proposition A unique selling proposition, sometimes referred to as a USP, is the one thing that is unique and valuable about your business, product or service? And it must be unique and valuable to your prospects or ideal clients, not just to you. It may be an inherent attribute of your product or service (it’s the only blue widget available and blue is the color your ideal customers prefer) or it may be something you create. I created the USP for my business, 10stepmarketing. There are many marketing training programs and educational products available. But there were none I could find that taught small business owners how to create and implement their own marketing plan using a simple, step-by-step, question-and-answer method. So I created my marketing training program (name and all) to fill this void in the marketplace. And it became my “created” USP. It didn’t exist when I first started training 5 years ago I created it and built my business around it. Your USP is an idea or a concept. It is not the exact words you feature in your marketing. You will however use it to write and create your marketing messages. Single Message This is what you say about your business, product or service when you market. It is the one key idea or message you include in all of your marketing. It may be very closely related to your USP, but it may not be exactly the same. You will determine your single message AFTER you determine your USP. Additionally, look at your single message as the one thing you could tell your prospects to change their mindset about your product or service, from what they currently think to what you WANT them to think. It is usually written in the form of a short statement or sentence. Its job is to take your prospects from what they think now to what you want them to think. Most likely you will NOT feature your single message in your marketing materials exactly as you have written it in your marketing plan. The idea will be communicated, but you will very likely use different words in your actual marketing materials. For 10stepmarketing, my single message is “If you can answer 10 questions, you can successfully market your business.” (In my case, I turned my single message into a tagline because it was succinct, it communicated exactly what I wanted, and frankly, it just WORKED!) Tagline Your tagline is an actual line of marketing copy you write to sum up what you do, or what you want your prospects to know about your product or service, or a key benefit they will reap if they purchase. You will draw on your USP and your Single Message to help you craft your tagline. This is the only one of all three (USP, Single Message, Tagline) your prospects will see exactly as you have written it in your marketing plan. As stated above, my tagline for 10stepmarketing came directly from my single message. This is not usually the case, but it just happened to work out that way. You may have the same situation. Your USP or your Single Message may be so spot-on you choose to use it as your tagline. As long as your tagline communicates a customer-focused message that’s great. Always ask yourself the question “What’s so great about that?” when you are thinking of putting a tagline or any other message or copy in front of your prospects. If “what’s so great” is obvious, your copy or tagline is probably already very customer-focused. If you can further drill down to a more specific customer benefit when asking this question, then you are still in business-owner “feature-land” and you will want to keep asking “What’s so great about that?” until you can’t drill down any further. Protection Of Search Engine Rankings

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

By Cameron S Johnson The ranking of your website on search engines is a vital to your overall marketing campaign, and there are ways to improve your site’s popularity through legitimate methods. Unfortunately, dishonest webmasters seeking to improve their popularity by deceiving search engines are causing the rules to be tightened. Search Engines are now on the look out for “spam” pages and sites that have increased their rankings by artificial methods. When a search engines detects such a site, that site is demoted in ranking or completely removed from the search engine’s index. Unfortunately, sometimes completely legitimate sites are being mistaken for these rule breakers. Your page may be in danger of being caught up in the “spam” net and tossed from a search engine’s index, even though you have done nothing to deserve such treatment. There are things you can do - and things you should avoid - which will prevent this kind of misperception. Link popularity is mostly based on the quality of sites you are linked to. Google started these criteria for assigning website ranking, and most search engines on the Internet now use it. There are legitimate ways to go about increasing your link popularity, but at the same time, you must be wary about which sites you choose to link to. Google often imposes penalties on sites that have linked to other sites solely for the purpose of artificially boosting their link popularity. They have actually labeled these links “bad neighborhoods.” You cannot be penalized when a bad neighbourhood links to your site; penalty happens only when your site links to a bad neighbourhood. But you must check, and recheck, all the links that are active on your links page to make sure you haven’t linked to a bad neighbourhood. The first thing to check out is whether or not the pages you have linked to have been penalized. The easiest way to do this is to download the Google toolbar at You will then see that most pages are given a “Pagerank” which is represented by a sliding green scale on the Google toolbar. Do not link to any site that shows NO green at all on the scale. If the scale is completely gray it is more than likely that these pages have been penalized. If you are linked to these pages, you may catch their penalty, and like a disease, it may be difficult to recover from the infection. Any site showing even a tiny sliver of green on their scale has not been penalized, and their rank may improve in the future. However, do make sure that you closely monitor these kind of links to ascertain that at some point they do not receive a penalty once you have linked up to them from your links page. Another trick that some webmasters use to artificially boost their Search Engine ranking is the use of hidden text. Search engines usually use the words on web pages as a factor in formulating their rankings, which means that if the text on your page contains your keywords, you are likely to be given a higher search engine ranking than a page that does not contain text inclusive of keywords. Some webmasters have gotten around this formula by hiding their keywords in such a way so that they are invisible to any visitors to their site. For example, they have used the keywords but made them the same color as the background color of the page, such as the use of yellow keywords on a yellow background. You cannot see these words when you view the site - but the search engine spider can spot them easily! A spider is the program search engines use to index web pages, and when it sees these keywords, it goes back and increases that page’s ranking. But search engines have figured these tricks out. As soon as a search engine perceive the use of hidden text the page will be penalized. The downside of this is that sometimes the spider is a bit heavy handed and will penalize a page by mistake. For example, if the background color of your page is blue, and you have placed blue text inside a white box, the spider will only take note of the blue text and assume you are using hidden text. To avoid any risk of false penalty, simply not to assign the same color to text as the background color of the page - EVER! Another potential issue that can result in a penalty is called “keyword stuffing.” It is important to have your keywords appear in the text on your page, but sometimes you can go a little overboard in your efforts to please those spiders. A search engine uses “Keyphrase Density” to determine if you are trying to artificially boost their ranking. If the density is too high the Search Engine will penalize your site. The density ratio is difficult to exceed without your text sounding like “gobbledygook” - unless your keyword is part of your company name. If this is the case, it is easy for keyword density to climb. So, if your keyword is “First Mortgage” be sure you don’t use this phrase in every sentence. Carefully edit the text on your site so that the copy flows naturally and the keyword is not repeated continually. A good guide is your keyword should never appear in more than half the sentences on the page. The final potential risk factor is known as “cloaking.” Cloaking is when the server directs a visitor to one page and a search engine spider to a different page. The page the spider sees is “cloaked” because it is invisible to regular traffic, and deliberately set-up to raise the site’s search engine ranking. A cloaked page tries to feed the spider everything it needs to increase that page’s ranking to the top of the list. Search engines have responded to this act of deception with extreme hostility, imposing steep penalties on these sites. The problem for you is that sometimes pages are cloaked for legitimate reasons. To be on the safe side, be sure that you are aware that absolutely no cloaking is acceptable. Cloaking of any kind will put your website at great risk. Be sure to monitor your site closely and avoid any appearance of artificially boosting your rankings. You must be diligent in increasing your link popularity and your ranking, you must also be diligent to avoid being unfairly penalized. Use Symbols of Love to Stay Positive about Your Search

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

By Ronnie Ann Ryan Sometimes its hard to stay positive when searching for a romantic partner. You may need help to shore up your belief that you will find the right man. If you feel yourself wavering, I recommend collecting symbols of love to help remind you that love is really possible. Here are a few ideas to get you started: 1. Find an item that says “I Believe” on it. I found a small needlepoint pillow with “I Believe” on it that I placed on my bed as a constant and positive reminder that I would achieve my goal of finding a good match. These words adorn many items such as pottery jars and small framed pictures to mention just a couple. Youll be surprised when you start looking for an “I Believe” item at how many show up! 2. Wear a piece of jewelry that shows you are someone who is loved and cherished. I choose a heart-shaped diamond pendant to help me feel loved. To me, wearing this necklace demonstrated to the world that someone cherished me by giving me such a lovely gift. Your choice doesnt have to be diamonds or heart-shaped. Think about what symbol comes to mind for you to strengthen your belief. 3. Buy yourself a card about love or marriage if thats your goal. Write a note to yourself, or to the man of your dreams and place it in clear sight on your night table or in the love corner of your home for Feng Shui benefits. Calling up feelings of love brings them into your life today and makes it feel real! Use symbols like these to reinforce your belief and firm up your conviction that you are on the path to finding the love you desire. Couples - Live a Good Life With Each Other

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

By Terje Ellingsen As couples, always keep the eye contact. Look your partner in the eyes when you say from the bottom of your heart ‘I love you’. As a couple each of you should put your partner first. You should understand that no matter what the circumstances are in your personal life, always put your partner first. Make it known to your partner how important he or she is and that the quality of life is Premium because he or she is in yours. God pairs the souls in heaven and releases them onto earth. Thus it’s up to the couple to find each other if true love was meant to be. If you feel that your partner is your soulmate, don’t just feel it, express it. If you do you’ll get better results out of your relationship. Coming home from a long day at work, immediately after entering, try hugging your beloved partner for at least a minute without saying a word. As the saying goes “Silence is golden”. You should leave all of your troubles at the doorstep. And if this is the right time for love and romance, it can lead to more than just a hug. Every partner has a dream. Find out what your partner’s dream is, share it with her or him and tell your partner honestly if you feel you have what it takes to support their desires and that you would like to be instrumental in making the dream come true. Give your partner a gift unexpectedly for what ever reason. When you hand over the gift, tell your partner that you thought of them when you saw this item. You should always be at your partners side, so that they can feel love and support from you. Love your partner in this way every day for the rest of your life. Men, remember to always open doors for her. Also remember to notice and compliment a new hairstyle or dress. An extra advice: Don’t forget to put the toilet seat back down. Tips to Lose Weight

Monday, November 12th, 2007

By Paul Cris As far as weight loss is concerned, it is something that does not easily occur. It requires immense hard work over a period of time. There are many kinds of exercises that need to be followed. You have to adhere to a diet pattern and also provide continuous exercise to the body. The most important step to be followed to lose weight is to cut down around 500 calories per day. A man can reasonably lose around 2-3 lbs per week. This can be done by first and foremost stopping the intake of food items like French fries, pizzas, or other fast foods and replacing them with foods made of steamed celery sticks or broccolis. Some experts advise their clients to first focus on the diet and then visit the gyms. Some of the concepts that were in vogue have been found wanting today. Most of them believed that the more you eat the fatter you turn. But today it has been found that you must not reduce the quantity of food intake. All you need to do is eat adequately but take an interval in between. Eat small portions of food. The metabolism rate becomes effective only if you follow this pattern of eating. At the same time consume items like oatmeal, pasta, vegetables, turkey, chickens, apples or seafood that contain the necessary nutrition. Along with the food type, you should consume right quantity. If you want your metabolism rate to be effective in the long run, then learn to cope with difficult exercises like weightlifting. The rate of metabolism increases only after 39 hours of performing exercises. If you choose weightlifting, then practice it at least 3 days per week for about 3-4 months. Only then your body can get adapted to the exercises thus enhancing your stamina. Therefore you need to stick to a particular set of exercises that you feel most comfortable. Remember that you must perform that workout with fixed repetitions. You must gradually increase the count of the exercise day after day. Ideally you must be able to perform it at least 45 times. After performing the workouts, you should cool down as the muscles need to relax. Juice Fasting — Clean Your Insides

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

By Sara Schell A wise man once said, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst, for they are sticking to their diets. What a fit description of the seemingly endless battles that we fight to lose weight and to stay healthy and vital for as long as humanly possible! Up and down, up and down, your metabolism bounces between walking pace and light speed; you have nightmares about celery sticks; you can work out the exact calorie count of every meal in 2.5 seconds; and the wheels on your exercise bike spontaneously combusted months ago. In short, you wear yourself out and end up landing on a bottom that, despite all your best efforts, still looks like a pair of bowling balls. Juice fasting is a great way to get off the dieting rollercoaster and see real results quickly. Safe and effective when carried out correctly, juice fasting benefits your entire being: Your physical wellbeing increases as the body is rid of toxins and excess fat. Your mind benefits because fasting creates a stillness that brings mental clarity and helps you to develop will power and to better control your senses. As you lose weight and feel much better about yourself, self-esteem improves and sets you on the road to what could be a life changing experience, connecting you to your spirit and helping you to achieve balance in your life. Juice Fasting and Weight Loss A juice fast is a great way to shed some extra pounds, especially when youre in a hurry. During the fast the body uses its own stored substances and, at the same time, detoxifies. A healthy combination of juices squeezed from fresh fruits and vegetables adds vitamins, minerals and trace elements to the body. Because your only source of nourishment during the fast is water and the juices that you drink, its imperative that the juices you drink contain the maximum possible amounts of enzymes, vitamins and other nutrients in the fresh produce. Many of the juicers on the market process the fresh fruits and veggies in a way that destroys many of the nutrients in the food. A top quality juicer such as the Oscar VitalMax juicer is an excellent tool for the job because it serves up living juices. The food is processed in such a way that it retains as many nutrients and essential enzymes as possible. Juice fasting is a much better diet option than fad diets. Fad diets literally starve the body of nutrients. On the other hand, juice fasting provides the body with the nutrients it needs for vibrant health, helping to fix any chemical imbalances in the body even those created by fad diets. Juice Fasting and Detoxification Juice fasting for detoxification is probably the most well-known usage of this particular type of fast. Juice fasting allows the organs of the body to rest, cleansing and revitalising them. The organs functioning is much better, which in turn aids in the digestion of food and production of energy for day to day life. Juice fasting may also be helpful for the treatment and prevention of fluid retention. Juice Fasting: How To Before launching into a fast, its a good idea to begin preparing the body a week ahead. Cut out or reduce nicotine, alcohol, caffeine, sugar and wheat. Ideally the diet prior to fasting should consist mainly of fruits, vegetables and beans. If youve never fasted before it might be a good idea to limit your first fast to three or four days. Sometimes abstaining from food entirely is a bit much, so its ok to eat fresh fruit or veggies if your stomach is complaining. Now its time to get juicing! If you cant make your own juices buy them from a health food shop the fresher, the better. The GreenPower Kempo juicer is another excellent juicer that produces high quality juices to help you to get the best possible result from your fast. Mix between one and three parts of pure water with your juice of choice. To get you started, here a few tasty recipes courtesy of Fasting to Freedom, by Tom McGregor: Joggers Paradise 3 oranges 2 hard pears 1 small yam Mix and add a little crushed ice. Great for energy. A Taste of Heaven 2 carrots 1 sweet potato 2 apples Thin slice of Spanish onion Pinch of Dulse powder For energy and endurance. Red Ice 1 beet 1 sweet potato 2 apples 1 lemon 1 tomato Thin slice of Spanish onion 1 garlic clove can of frozen apple concentrate Sit back and relax! With the aid of a good juicer or fresh juice from a health shop, give yourself a power up and try a juice fast. Better than any fad diet, you can stop running yourself ragged. Its a great way to remove toxins from the body, to lose weight, and to improve your health and wellbeing. Look better, feel better, be healthier than ever before! Please note: It’s always safest to get the advice of a health care professional before making drastic changes to your diet, particularly if arent well to start with. Even natural juices can interfere with medication and you should consult your doctor before fasting. American Ginseng

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

By Jacob Wood American ginseng is a deciduous perennial growing to the height of one foot. American ginseng has a smooth stem, leaves with oblong to oval leaflets, small greenish flowers, and kidney shaped scarlet berries. American ginseng is native to North America as well as the Himalayas. A woodland plant, it is rarely seen in the wild due to over-harvesting. American ginseng is cultivated in Wisconsin, China and France. The root is gathered in autumn. History of American ginseng Native American people may have considered this herb a means to increase female fertility. From the mid 18th century, the collection of the herb for export to China became a virtual gold rush, with so many Native Americans, out collecting the herb that settlers reported finding villages almost deserted. The Ojibwa people always planted a seed to replace the herb, but this was not a universal practice. American ginseng became rare towards the end of the 19th century. American ginseng is remedy for Stress and Fatigue The action of this herb is presumed to be similar to, but milder than, that of its Chinese cousin. American ginseng increases tolerance to stress of all kinds. In traditional Chinese medicine, the herb is employed as a yin tonic, treating weakness, fever, wheezing, and coughs. Function of American ginseng American ginseng can boost the immune system, and therefore increase resistance to disease. American ginseng may increase physical stamina, and stimulate the appetite, which can be especially useful for the elderly. American ginseng may improve the memory, and several studies have indicated that American ginseng reduces total blood cholesterol levels. American ginseng has an anti-clotting action that may reduce the risk of heart attacks. American ginseng may also be used by diabetics to reduce blood sugar levels, though not before consulting a qualified healthcare professional. American ginseng Includes American ginseng contains a mixture of several saponin glycosides including insenocides and panaxocides. Reflections on a Difficult Gospel Passage: The Day and Hour Unknown

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

By Saundra L. Washington “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Mark 13:32. The difficulty of this passage for our church fathers and indeed, for many of us still today, lay in what seems to be a divine limitation of Jesus knowledge. We get a feeling that something is amiss and then the question that almost immediately pops into the mind of readers is, If Jesus is God, how do we account for His lack of omniscience? As we begin our journey for answers, we note that the short phrase nor the Son is found only in Mark; Matthew does not include it (Matt. 24:36). We also recall that Marks general presentation of Jesus is as the servant and a servant does not know his master’s business. The servant character of Jesus seems to reveal His most typical and true humanness. He took upon him the form of a servant. Is it possible that when Jesus became man, He limited Himself in order to be made like us? He was not omnipresent when He became man so is it also reasonable to assume that there was a self limitation relative to His all-knowing as well? Stein believes the text is clear in revealing the fact that Jesus did not know when the Second Coming would take place. He recognized the theological problems associated with this text and confesses that it may not be possible to know how Jesus could be very God of very God and not know the exact time of his return. Similar thoughts are shared by Barclay. He asserts that there are things which even Jesus left without questioning in the hand of God and that it would be blasphemous for us to inquire into that which our Lord consented to be ignorant of. Beach entertains the thought that this saying was added by a Christian hand at some point during the transmission of this apocalypse. He claims that it was probably present in Marks source. It contrasts with the rest of the apocalypse in which Jesus is presented as attempting to specify the time of His return as much as possible as is recorded in Mark 13:14: “When you see ‘the abomination that causes desolation’ standing where it does not belonglet the reader understandthen let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Good Biblical hermeneutics is difficult, time consuming and mentally fatiguing. It is never an overnight process. Rather, it is a frustrating struggle, which by the way, should be accepted as our own personal sacrifice for God and one that is not taken lightly. SIDEBAR QUOTE: Sink the Bible to the bottom of the ocean, and still man’s obligations to God would be unchanged. He would have the same path to tread, only his lamp and his guide would be gone; the same voyage to make, but his chart and compass would be overboard. H. W. Are Your Internet Legal Advertising Dollars Competing Against Your Advertising Dollars?

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

By Kreig Mitchell Lawyers spend a lot of money on advertising. The Internet has been drawing in a lot of those legal advertising dollars. For the most part these dollars are going to companies that design and/or promote law firm websites and to companies that develop and/or maintain their own websites. Unfortunately most lawyers do not choose one option over the other and their legal advertising dollars do compete directly against themselves. Lets look at this a bit further. Most certainly Google, Yahoo and Microsofts pay per click services draw a lot of legal advertising dollars. Lawyers and law firms use these services to promote the lawyers or firms individual websites. This has increased the demand for and legal advertising dollars that flow to companies that design law firm websites. So far so good. A decent website and pay per click ad campaign can be a viable internet advertising plan. But most lawyers and law firms do not stop there. Instead they also advertise on legal portals (such as FindLaw, law.com, or lawyers.com) and legal matching websites (such as Case Post). The problem with this is that these portals and legal matching websites conduct their own internet advertising. In essence these portals and legal matching websites are trying to draw the same visitors that would have otherwise visited the lawyer or law firms website directly. Let me give you a real life example. Say a criminal law attorney sets up a $100 per month Google pay-per-click advertising campaign and the attorney pays $300 per month to a portal like or to a legal matching web service. What will happen is the legal portal or legal matching website will turn around and allocate most (if not all) of the $300 per month to set up a pay per click advertising campaign to target the kind of traffic the criminal lawyer would like. This $300 outlay will enable the portal or legal matching service to place its pay-per-click advertisements above the criminal law attorneys individual $100 outlay for pay-per-click advertisements. You would think that this double exposure would be great. And it would, if the portal or legal matching website where only advertising the individual criminal lawyers services. Portals and legal matching websites do not operate like this. They advertise for hundreds and even thousands of other criminal lawyers. The criminal lawyer has paid to put a third party to put someone elses ads in front of his ads and to expose would-be-clients to other criminal lawyers. If that is not bad enough, the legal portal or legal matching website will use part of the lawyers $300 outlay to produce content for their own website. This content will then increase the portals and legal matching websites rankings in the search engines in relation to the law firms own website. This has the potential to seriously diminish the number of visitors that would have naturally been directed to the criminal lawyers own website via the search engines. Part of the criminal lawyer’s finds will also be directed towards promoting the legal portal or legal matching website offline. This helps legal portals and legal matching services to put out legal advertising that competes directly with the lawyer or law firms offline legal advertising efforts. This further increases the false perception in the legal profession and in the public that the legal portal or matching services actually provide a service that is worth paying for, and it helps to justify the legal portal or legal matching service charging the lawyers more to participate. At the end of the day, the criminal lawyer has contributed to a system that makes lawyers dependent on expensive third party middlemen advertising portals and legal matching services. A better approach would be for the legal community to unchain itself from these middlemen services that are only out to profit from lawyers and consumers of legal services.
