Why Should You Use A Baked Cheesecake Recipe

A good baked cheesecake recipe can provide a dessert that will make a bad meal into a good memory, and make a good meal into an event that will be talked about for years. A slice of baked cheesecake, especially New York style, is perfection itself. The creamy texture, the subtle flavors and the richness combine on the palate to make dessert truly the great finish to the meal. You might be tempted at some point, however, to explore a simpler way to make your cheesecake. The baked cheesecake recipe, while simple, can be unforgiving at times, and it only takes a couple of failures to send even the most intrepid of home cooks looking for alternatives. What they soon find, however, is that there really is no adequate substitute for the creamy richness of the baked version. There are no-bake cheesecake recipes in great supply on the Internet, and you are more than welcome to be adventurous and try one. Before you serve one to your dinner guests, however, you would be well advised to make one just for in-home consumption. Why? The answer is quite simple: There is not a single no-bake cheesecake recipe in existence that will give you anything approaching what you get when you go through the effort of producing a baked cheesecake. Most of the no-bake recipes rely on some sort of gelatin to thicken the mix, or they mix in whipped cream to try to mimic the texture of the baked product. While both options produce a generally edible end product, in the immortal words of Snoopy there are like “giving a starving dog a rubber bone.” If you are going to cook a great meal, and put a lot of effort into it, why go cheap on your dessert? Putting forth the effort to follow a baked cheesecake recipe is worth it every time. Depression Keeps 19 Million Adults From Being Productive

By Rick Weaver Approximately 19 million American adult workers allow depression to limit their productivity. According to the American Medical Women’s Association, this includes 5 million women, many of whom will quit or loss their jobs directly due to the depression. Symptoms of depression include emotional elements such as restlessness or loss of pleasure, or physical elements like headaches, aches, and pains. These symptoms result in a lowered ability to work, sleep, eat, study, or enjoy pleasurable activities. Internationally known motivational speaker, Connie Podesta, feels there is a link between depression and the blend of one’s home life and work life. “One major reason for depression is the feeling of guilt in having to choose between family and work”, points out Podesta. By taking control of your life, you reduce the tension from having to make excuses to your boss, friends, and family for spending excessive time from one to the other. There are six keys to balancing your life: ==> People need a healthy, functional environment. People need a place that is safe, a place where they can go to escape the negatives of a bad day. They need a sanctuary to rebuild their spirit for the next day. Fair rules and boundaries are a key to creating this environment. ==> People need positive relationships. You must seek out positive relations and repair, constrain, or eliminate negative relationships. But it must be done right, keeping important relationships. ==> Dealing with negative experiences. We choose how to react to every situation. By dealing positively with negative life experiences, we can keep our life in perspective. ==> Building positive self-esteem. Thinking positively about yourself is not easy. Don’t expect people to pour compliments over you. Seek ways to build your self esteem on a continue basis. ==> Making timely decisions. Too many people have a problem making either the little decisions or they struggle with big decisions. Some people have problems with both. Failure to make timely decisions affects mental and physical health, throwing life into imbalance. ==> Learning how to handle personal problems. Being able to identify the magnitude of personal problems and resolving the problems quickly and positively eliminates their impact on longer-term happiness. Although you may have mastered one or more of these aspects already, true balance will elude you until you reach the point that you have had moderate success in all six areas. To Get Hired or Get Promoted, Attitude Is The Key

By Bonnie Lowe When you’re looking to get hired or get promoted, what do you think is your most important asset? Your experience? Knowledge? Skill? Talent? While all of those are advantages that will help you achieve your goals, there’s one thing that’s more important than all of them combined. Your attitude! I attended a board meeting recently. It should’ve been spelled “bored.” Just about everyone’s eyes were glazed over or nearly closed with fatigue as one dull presentation after another was foisted upon the board members, staff and audience. Then something changed. Someone who had never spoken at a board meeting before got up, went to the lectern, fired up her PowerPoint presentation, and totally blew everyone away! People perked up in their seats and listened attentively to her every word. When she was done, people clapped! (If you’ve ever attended a public agency board meeting before, you’ll know how remarkable that is!) The board president said, “I’ve seen hundreds of presentations. This is the first time I’ve ever seen one that elicited applause!” Was this presenter more experienced, more knowledgeable, more skilled or more talented than all the others? Absolutely not. As a fairly new employee, she was actually inferior in all of those areas. What made the difference? Her attitude. She was enthusiastic, positive, upbeat, energetic and truly excited about what she was talking about! It wasn’t the quality of her presentation that impressed people, it was how she made them feel. Her enthusiasm was contagious, so the audience greatly enjoyed listening to facts and figures that, presented by someone without her energetic attitude, would’ve bored them to tears. Everyone in that room will remember and think very highly of her–not the more experienced, knowledgeable, skilled or talented presenters–because of her attitude. You know why companies conduct time-consuming, labor-intensive job interviews instead of simply hiring people based on the qualifications presented in their resumes? One of the reasons is to find someone they’ll enjoy working with. This can only be conveyed in person, by your attitude. Think of your own coworkers. Who do you enjoy working with? The smart guy who has all the answers but acts superior? The woman who’s has the most experience but whines or complains whenever she’s asked to do something in a new way? Or the person who always smiles, listens to you, stays positive, friendly and supportive no matter what? How’s your attitude?
